Pain or Bliss, You Choose!
In each and every moment the opportunity is there for us to experience life as either pain or bliss. Bliss is the residing space inside us that is constant.. flowing and accepting of all that is. The pain aspect arises from thoughts that come up to take us out of the bliss. For most people their place of residence is in the thought realm, where they are preoccupied with the next problem, the next task or the last problem and the last task!!!
To begin to access the bliss space we need to set a super strong intention and then follow up with that intention on a moment by moment, and daily, weekly, monthly basis. This is our passport to freedom. Meditation plays a huge role in reaching this goal.
Obviously, a spiritual life coach can help us recognize our “stinking thinking” and help us wake up to how to live with just the bliss portion of the equation!
Many of the clients I am coaching with are having the most beautiful breakthroughs in the pain- bliss cycle. One client was going to a very important meeting and on the way to the meeting was feeling quiet inside and very much enjoying himself. As he traveled he saw a thought of loneliness arising inside him. As he had been working with me on this topic he suddenly saw how the thought was just that, a pattern of thinking that was an old habit. He stopped the thought from arising and gathering power. Instead he was flooded with the thought and feeling:
“I am connected with all, the rocks, the trees and everybody and being”
This feeling/realization/thought sent him into the most beautiful space of bliss, that feeling of contentedness resounding deeply inside his being.
At the meeting he was faced with advising very wealthy businessmen who were extremely serious and void of joy apparently. His own joy was bubbling out, and as he responded powerfully and clearly to each question, each engagement, he could feel the whole room shifting to a more pleasant way of being.
He then went to buy some items in a shop and again found that the shop clients literally stopped shopping to enjoy his blissful presence. One shopper asked him what he was doing to look so great. She also commented “You must be very successful!”
What would prompt a complete stranger to say to you “You must be very successful” upon meeting you? I was obviously a force and feeling beyond regular intellectual comprehension that was causing this.
This experience, both in the meeting with the wealthy businessmen, and the shoppers were not his normal experience.
He was able to see the thought arising that would take him down a path of thinking that would cause him to suffer all day. Instead of doing that he chose to drop the thought and in doing so fell into the space of bliss that is the constant underneath all the mind chatter.
We each have this potential. I challenge you to decide to awaken that potential in yourself!
Set the new years resolution to live in CONSTANT BLISS. I will support you!
